The sign on the outskirts of Malibu boasts “21 Miles of Scenic Beauty.” Few could quibble. Not many towns are blessed to have the Pacific Ocean as their western city limit. So, with a day free to myself, I set out to explore as much of the 21 miles as I could between sunrise and sunset. (And I threw in an inland jaunt to Malibu Creek State Park where they shot M*A*S*H, as well.) After 14 hours yo-yoing the Pacific Coast Highway, I’ll admit it’s hard to take a bad picture in Malibu. Hopefully, I’ve captured some of the aura that sits just 16 feet above sea level.
